A downloadable game for Windows and macOS

A few years ago, computer genius phanna went missing. It was in the news for a while, but then people forgot. You've just purchased a used computer and when you turned it on, you realized that it hasn't been wiped. Very quickly, you discover that this computer once belonged to phanna. Explore her computer to discover what became of the woman who once ruled computer science circles.

This game is a short prototype of an idea that was developed for A Game by its Cover Jam 2018 #AGBIC. It was inspired by the .GHOST famicase (http://famicase.com/18/softs/097.html) by Joe Wright (http://www.turnwrighthere.com/).

The theme of #AGBIC this time was "Chill", and I used this to inform my visual and audio design. Originally, the colors were going to be a lot more... subtle, but when the theme came out I was struck immediately with the idea to use a chillwave aesthetic. It fit the slightly cyberpunk feel that I was heading for in the story, so I went with it. That means this game features a *lot* of neon pink and cyan. I'm not used to working with such bold colors, but I hope I've created something palatable.

This game is entirely mouse driven, except for the login screen, where you have to use the keyboard to type in a user name and password. The style of this game is based on other games like Digital: A Love Story by Christine Love (http://scoutshonour.com/digital/) and more recently Orwell by Fellow Traveller (http://fellowtraveller.games/games/orwell/). It's an interface game about sifting through a dearth of information to find clues to how to progress. In this version, you can't progress very far, but the groundwork is laid out. When the game asks if you want to end the session, that's the end of the game so far.

This game was made in Unity. To make this game, I used Audacity to edit sound, and made the visuals in Paint.NET and Krita. This game features music from the Free Music Archive by BODYSURFER (http://freemusicarchive.org/music/BODYSURFER/) (CC BY). The fonts I used in this project are "Spinwerad" by  gluk (http://www.glukfonts.pl/), "Halogen" by JLH Fonts (https://jlhfonts.blogspot.com/) and "Digit" by paldave (https://www.dafont.com/paldave.d2363).

NOTE: I don't have the means for testing a Mac build, but I've built one using Unity anyway. Feel free to inform me if you notice any problems with that version.
